UNC Socket Cap Screws - High Tensile Grade 12.9 - Self Colour

A UNC (Unified Coarse Thread) Cap Screw in Self Colour (Unplated). The Imperial Cap Head has a deep hexagon socket and an imperial hex driving bit or wrench key is used to tighten the screw.

UNC Cap Heads have a coarse thread. They are commonly used in relatively low strength materials such as Cast Iron, Aluminum, Brass, Bronze and Plastic due to the coarse series threads providing more resistance to internal thread stripping than fine threads. Coarse threads are advantageous where rapid assembly or disassembly is required. Coarse series threads are deeper than fine threads and are easier to assemble without cross threading.

The length is measured from below the head. Grade 12.9 provide the highest level of strength, clamping and fatigue resistance when tightened to the recommended torque figure. They are ideal for high stress applications or for when a high strength fastener is required.
