Product Description
Self Tapping Screws tap their own hole as they are driven into the material being used i.e. Metal, Wood, Plastic. The self tapping ability is often created by cutting a gap in the continuity of the thread on the screw generating a flute and cutting edge similar to those on a tap.
The raised head design is a cross between a countersunk and round head because it has both features. This allows the component to be countersunk down far enough so that the slight dome on top is flush with the timber. They are typically used as a decorative feature.
